The Challenge

A personal care brand wanted to launch a new facial cream with 10 potential benefits. The marketing team couldn't decide whether to focus the campaign on "deep hydration" (a functional benefit) or "radiant and vibrant skin" (an emotional benefit).

The Solution

Through a MaxDiff study, we ranked the 10 benefits. "Deep hydration" turned out to be a Must-Have (important, but expected in the category), while "radiant and vibrant skin" positioned itself as the claim with the greatest attraction power. With ClaimMap®, we confirmed that the latter was not only more relevant, but also more differentiating against the competition.
